All applicants must submit a fully completed application
Recent pictures of the vessel must accompany applications or provide a local
mooring of the vessel where a visual inspection can be completed (in MdR only).
Vessels over 10 years old may require a current Marine Survey Report at the option of
the Marina Manager, testifying as to the general condition, seaworthiness and operational ability and value of said vessel.
All vessels under application for moorage at Marina Harbor Anchorage must be
found in good to excellent operational and mechanical condition. Vessel appearance must exhibit excellent
care and owner pride relating to cosmetic condition and maintenance at all times while moored in Marina Harbor Anchorage.
Vessels 10 years and older, should have a current US Coast Guard Inspected
Sticker placed upon the vessel. The inspection is free and conducted by members
of the USCG Auxiliary. (This is a recommendation only).
Acceptance of applicants who were previous tenants of Marina Harbor
Anchorage will be subject to a historical record check prior to approval.
Vessel must meet all applicable requirements of the Marina Harbor Anchorage
Lease, Marina Rules and Regulations, and all applicable rules and regulations of
the State of California to include the Los Angeles Department of Beaches and
Harbors rules and regulations as they may apply.
All vessels, prior to acceptance, must have a current and valid State Registration
or Federal Documentation available for inspection and must provide liability
insurance prior to approval from Marina Harbor Anchorage.
Vessels applying for live-a-board status must receive the approval of the Marina
Manager prior to move in if accepted. Live aboard vessels shall be a minimum
of 40 feet in length and have on board all necessary equipment to support a live a-
board status and lifestyle. All live-a-board vessels must have gray and black
water tanks for pump out purposes. No vessel shall pump out tanks directly
overboard within the marina or the Marina del Rey basin area.
All live-a-board vessels must first apply to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s
Department and receive a County Approved Live-a-Board Sticker.
No application for Commercial Use Vessels will be considered whose owner intends
to conduct commercial operations from Marina Harbor Anchorage.
Vessels found acceptable will be approved based upon availability of a suitable and appropriate slip.
All applicants who have been accepted based on the above criteria will be subject to a credit check.
There is a $35.00 credit check fee charged to the applicant. No vessel will be permitted to moor
at Marina Harbor Anchorage if the registered owner does not pass the credit check.
